Bertha Mullich Scholarship Fund
Mission Statement
Bertha Mullich scholarship fund dedicate a yearly monetary fund to John Borrow High School graduate to acknowledge their decision to specialize in the field of Horticulture, Environmental, Forestry, Gardening or Flora.
The Fund
The Burbank-Valley Garden Club scholarship fund was founded in memory of Betha Mullich, a member and past president of the club.
Both her sister and her children graduated from John Burroughs High School, and they requested that the fund will be given to John Burroughs High school graduate who will further his/her education in the field of Horticulture, Forestry, Environmental, Gardening, Floral design, Landscaping, architecture and Botany.
Each year $200 will be awarded to one student from John Burroughs High School or other educational organizations to encourage and recognize their decision to explore the field of the plants world.

2005 - 2006 Winner
Marcus Anderson
Marcus C. Anderson is the 2005 recipient of the annual Bertha Mullich Scholarship for students pursuing a course of study in horticulture, floriculture, landscaping, environmental studies, conservation or a related field of study which will be presented at our annual award ceremony and installation of officers on June 9th. Marcus, who has been accepted into the forestry program at Humboldt State University, is currently a senior at Burbank High School, a scholar athlete and an avid camper and fisherman, who loves nothing more than exploring the beauty of our natural resources. We honor his choice of an educational path to a career which supports our forest lands for all generations.
