Garden Central is now providing hundreds of free websites for garden clubs throughout America. It's EASY, FAST, and FREE. You provide the information and we manage your site. No cost. No hassle. We work with hundreds of clubs as well as many state federations, districts, and councils. We even provide free sites for national garden club and horticultural society projects. There are no fees or hidden costs. Clubs are under no obligation to continue with us if dissatisfied for any reason. We are available by e-mail and toll-free phone to answer questions and handle website-editing requests 16 hours a day, 365 days a year. Garden Central is a project created and run by Our Community Works, Inc., a New Jersey-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit community-development organization whose mission is to bring resources to other not-for-profit community-focused groups. The Garden Central web-enabling initiative is one of several community development projects OCW has undertaken since Carolyn Kawahara and Bryan Thomlison founded it in 1996. We are grateful for the support of our sponsor, Miracle-Gro(tm). The only sponsorship identification on district, council, and club websites is a small logo at the bottom right corner of the site. It says, "Fed and cared for by Miracle-Gro". On the websites we build for national, regional, and state garden club and horticultural organizations, the home page also has two small Miracle-Gro content blocks on the right side of Home page. That's the only corporate identification. No banner ads! No pop-ups! To see some of the club sites we have done, click on the links below.
You will notice three basic style formats: "Standard," "Custom," "Hybrid". Sites are limited to 15 pages, although some clubs opt for fewer pages. Occasionally, at our discretion, we will provide a club with a few more pages. Links to the "Hybrid" style follow immediately. The hybrid starts with an introductory "splash page" with minimal text as the entry point to the site, then it opens into the "standard format" that uses a common design template for all clubs in that state. It's called "hybrid" because the introductory splash page is in the custom format and the rest of the site is in the standard format. Here are some hybrid sites ...
