This course is offered to all garden club members and the public. Classes were held at the Broward County Extension Office in Davie, held January 22 and 23, 2007. The curriculum is from NGC (National Garden Club) and it was hosted by FFGC-District XI. Those who took the exam received accreditation
Tuesday was a teaching tour at Flamingo Gardens in Davie. This is a botanical Garden and Wildlife Sanctuary.
* Their mission is to depict and preserve the natural and cultural heritage of South Florida and the Everglades.
* Provide a repository for endangered plant and bird species and a living library for research and educating.
* To inspire an appreciation for the beauty and diversity of tropical and subtropical plants from around the world
that can be grown in our ear.
* To guide the public to be environmentally responsible and aesthetic in their horticultural practices.
* To encourage environmental awareness and Everglades preservation.
