Mid-Central District Creates First Website in the State of Missouri
It's not hard to create a website using Garden Central's help. The templates are already preset, all you have to do is insert the test and upload the digital photos. Greg Tomlinson is great to work with! He can be contacted at gregorbrian@yahoo.com or at www.gardencentral.org for details. There is no cost for your club to be included. Since opening on Jan. 27, 2005, we’ve had 3759 hits on the site as of today! I think this has been my most successful accomplishment during my term as your District Director!

FGCM State Convention, Apr. 26-28 Lodge of the Four Seasons, Lake Ozark, Mo
“Valley of Gardens” was the theme of this year’s state convention hosted by Central District. If you were not there, check out the photos on the website. We had a great time. 25 members from various clubs attended and our own Claudia Chopp presented a program on ‘Designs by the Book’. Thanks, Claudia!
Our Serviceberry tree display was done by Betty Licklider from Cuba Hills Garden Club and displayed beautifully. Thanks, Betty!
Report from FGCM Summer Board Meeting June 8, 2005, Columbia, Mo
The new slate of officers was installed at the state convention and is off to a great start. See your summer issue of The Garden Forum so that you can include the list in your yearbooks for 2006. As the new FGCM Membership/Publicity Chairman, I gave my report that you will see in the Fall Issue. Membership is an important issue with all clubs wanting to grow!
Missouri State Fair August 11-21, Sedalia, Mo – Federation Day August 17
I am posting the photos from the Floriculture Building at the state fair on the website. The flower show was fabulous! There were dried flower designs from people who don’t even belong to a garden club! They were incredible! And if you think you can’t enter the design area, think again. One entry was from a 96 year old garden club member in a nursing home that took your breath away! Too busy, too old, not for this woman!
Landscape Design School held at NGC Oct. 4-6, 2005
Members from three clubs in the district attended the two day Landscape Design School. We learned a great deal from the speakers and material that was given out. There were about 80 people from around the state who joined us. See the website for photos.
