Historic Garden Week in Virginia*
Bus Trip
April 20, 2010

The tour features homes along Route 218, which leads from Stafford County into King George County. Route 218, also known as Ridge Road, once led to the seats of the Fitzhugh, Washington, Lewis, Tayloe, and other prominent Colonial families.  Stafford County was the boyhood home of George Washington; King George County was the birthplace of James Madison.  Beautiful Greek revival homes, Charleston double porch style homes and a Mediterranean style home are on the tour. All these homes have historical interest and views of the Potomac River.  These homes are appearing on the Historic Garden Tour for the first time.

$85/person includes tickets for the homes and gardens, a Garden Week Book, a brochure describing the homes on the tour, lunch and snacks (served on the bus).  This is a walking tour. Please remember to wear appropriate flat-heeled shoes.  We will be going rain or shine.

DEADLINE FOR RESERVATIONS:  MARCH 10, 2010.

When reservations for the bus are filled, we will begin a waiting list.  There will be no refunds.  Call Betsy Henretty  if you find that you will not be able to go.  Contacts will be made with those on the waiting list.  Everyone has enjoyed previous Garden Tour trips and we hope that you will join us!
