September 2007 "GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY" Great Meadows Garden Club celebrates 50 years of Sharing, Caring and Gardening. The 50th Anniversary luncheon is dedicated to:
The women who tirelessly recruited members for the garden club; The women who soiled their hands while planting, watering and weeding to help brighten up the community; The women who so graciously welcomed new members and helped them learn about gardening and floral design; The women who worked through their anxieties preparing for a flower show; and The women who have made and maintained friendships with other members, sometimes for over half a lifetime. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you all
The 50th Anniversary Luncheon was held in The Barn at Fallingwater
| Pictures, scrapbooks and yearbooks gave one a chance to peruse the memories of the past 50 years.
| Elaine Ringer did so well selling 50/50 tickets that the winner received over $100.00.
| The local merchants responded generously to Sandy Kulp's pleas for contributions. That made a myriad of choices for the Chinese Auction..........dinners, golf, tickets to a murder mystery or the zoo, flowers and even a snowman with a Christmas tree! Incidentally, a couple lottery tickets on the mum were winners, $7.00!
| Kathy Gerke is a charming "associate" for the Chinese Auction tickets!
| Great Meadows Garden Club Favorite Recipes Books were available.
| Mary Ann Schmunk and Marlene Leslie interrupted their visit to smile at the camera.
| The continuous slide show of past and present photos brought back a lot of fond memories.
| Marlene Leslie, President, with two friends from Natrona Heights on either side of her. | A neat picture of two friends, Joan Whitlock and Lola Salai.
