District III Activities Crestwood Garden Club, District III dedicated two blue star markers on Memorial Day, May 25th, 2009. The Memorial Marker was placed on the grounds of the East Ridge City Hall in East Ridge, TN. The By-Way marker is to be placed at our local park - Camp Jordan Park, also in East Ridge. A combined program with the American Legion was presented, with State Blue Star chairman, Katherine Dowdy giving the history and State President, Alice Overton doing the actual dedication. (That's when the rains came), but we finished!! The hardscape under the marker is a cream tile base with blue tile shaped in a star pattern. This was designed and done by Crestwood member Kathryn Knapp.
