South Atlantic Region Unified Project – 2007-09 “Caring, Sharing, Growing” With SAR Director Anne Brown choosing the theme “Sharing the Joy of Gardening,” she planned that the emphasis be on sharing. There is much diversity in the five states of this region and it is challenging to choose a Unified Project that will enable clubs in each of the states to participate, regardless of club size. One of the important goals of this project is for garden clubs to become visible in the community. Signs should be put at each site with the name of the club or state. Such visibility is an excellent way to let the public know what garden clubs are doing. Hopefully this will help attract new members. We hope that your efforts in sharing your gardening experience will bring joy to your members and to the lives of the people we touch. A regular Book of Evidence is necessary for these awards. Follow the rules for the SAR region awards in your directory. State SAR Unified Project Chairman should send the Books of Evidence to the Regional Chairman by December 31, 2008. Healing Garden - $50 Award to a club for creating a gardening experience for atients at a rehab or therapy center.
