The Golden Trowel Award Given at 2009 State Convention
Districts, how would you like to double your investment? Would you like to enter a contest with 1-in-9 odds to win? Then complete for the Golden Trowel Award and all the bragging rights that come with it...not to mention the $100 award and the Golden Trowel itself.
The contest is a crossword puzzle, testing your knowledge about WVGC and gardening activities. For a mere $50 entry fee, participating districts will pick up their crossword puzzle at the registration desk on Monday morning of the convention. Completed puzzles are to be turned in by noon on Tuesday with the winner being announced at dinner on Tuesday evening.
Questions for the beginning gardener to the past state president, from the flower
show judge to the district director will all be included. Use any resource possible:
phone a friend or trade answers with another district. The only rule is you can’t ask Jerry Shriver, Connie Woods or Darlene Newell any puzzle questions.
Winning district receives a check for $ 100, the Golden Trowel and unlimited bragging rights. So enter the contest, work as a team, discover the hidden knowledge of each district member, and be recognized as the “Golden Trowel” district in WVGC.
